Polymyositis can be an isolated disease or seen with another rheumatic diseases such as Autoimmune thyroid disease Hashimoto's or Graves), Insulin dependant diabetes, Multiple sclerosis, Systemic Sclerosis, Sjögren Syndrome, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Rheumatoid Arthritis or Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD), Vitiligo.
I personally do have Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Sjögren Syndrome, Arthritis (in the process of being diagnosed) and Fibromyalgia.

Hi there and don't forget the lovely scleroderma loves to invite polymyositis in to the happy family of invaders,I have half a thyroid probably as a result of hashimoto and Sjogrens too a bit of vitiligo but that is going away with prednisone and methotrexate. Those meds are helping both the sclero and PM so I am lucky.
