Ongoing complications in Polymyositis

Apparently because my muscles are weak, due to the myositis, this puts extra stress on the tendons and consequently all my tendons are starting to cause me pain and problems such as the following:

  • Hip tendons are almost torn through causing extreme pain and inability to get down on floor
  • Wrist tendons to thumb are inflammed causing loss of fine motor and difficulty with movements like cutting, pouring the kettle and twisting the lids on jars.
  • Bursitis in right shoulder is a tendon problem
  • pain in both ankles could also be the tendons
Many of these conditions end in itis = tendonitis, bursitis etc! This all means more xrays to see what is happening but no real explanation as yet as to what can or should be done except hydotherapy. Bring on the hydrotherapy.
Besides the pain caused by all these conditions it is just so frustrating to know that you are falling apart and nothing much is suggested to prevent it.
